Before travelling in your rental car in South Africa be sure to obtain a map book for the areas you wish to visit. BBC Sport: Has launched a comprehensive map World Cup 2010 Map for South Africa. The map is well laid out and is simple to use and there is a HOW TO USE THIS MAP block.

Google is also launching a Street View map

At a press conference in Johannesburg, Google announced the launch of Street View for South Africa and promised to go live before the 2010 World Cup. In the coming weeks, Google, using Toyota Prius fuel efficient and environmental friendly models will begin driving around South Africa and taking photographs of locations, including Johannesburg, Cape Town, Pretoria, Port Elizabeth and Durban.
